Thank you for visiting my site.  It is a privilege to be the Candidate for the Conservative Party to fight the forthcoming General Election for North Devon. Helen and I both thank you for your interest . I have been overwhelmed with the enthusiastic comments and encouragement I have received from so many and perhaps most importantly, from those who are not involved in the political process. Even I had underestimated just how much support there is in North Devon for a truly local candidate. I want to do all I can to build on the fantastic success achieved by our Councillors in the 2007 District Elections and Conservatives generally in the 2008 local elections and those for London Mayor. Since then, some fantastic by-election results have shown us a glimpse of the future!

As we know, a General Election is only months away and we are into the Election period and all it entails.  As this is being written, at the beginning of January, we know that within the next 150 days our Country will have been to the polls to elect its new Government and I hope to be able to serve you as the Conservative Representative for North Devon in that Government.  To this end I appeal to all of you who share with me in this aim.  Practical help is needed urgently in order to have a strong team here in North Devon to support me and if you are able to assist I should be delighted to hear from you.  We need people for many roles and this is your chance to make a practical contribution to the future of North Devon and indeed the politics of our Country.

Plans are underway for a good number of canvassing opportunities and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the coming weeks.  If there is anything that I can do to assist anyone or indeed if you would like to help me by becoming involved in our canvassing team please let me know.

I should like to thank all of you who have been enquiring regarding my health since my operation in November. I am pleased to report that things are progressing well and I am feeling much better.  I am gradually getting back into the swing of things although thanks to North Devon’s changeable weather and the advice that I should try and avoid catching any nasty bugs, I continue to work from home – it is amazing how much can be achieved with the benefits of modern technology and a quiet office where I can focus on one thing at a time!
